Sunset Park History Community Photo Exhibition

Sunset Park Through the Lens

Oct. 3–31, 2026
@MADE Bush Terminal
Open Daily, 8AM–8PM

Sunset Park Through the Lens is a community photography exhibition highlighting the history, people, and cultural landscape of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Through archival and contemporary photography as well as contributions by local artists, the exhibition explores Sunset Park’s layered histories, from its industrial waterfront and immigrant communities to its artists, makers, and cultural spaces.

Collaborations from Brooklyn-based artists include Rusty Zimmerman's audio and painted portraits, public workshops facilitated by Yukiko Izumi on October 3rd and October 17th, as well as a family workshop organized by Cynthia Reynolds on October 31st. Sunset Park community members Katherine Walsh and Alice Walsh have also contributed to the exhibition with a documentary film produced by Pratt, Anchor Savings Bank, Sunset Park Restoration Committee, and Community Board 7 in 1979. Alice Walsh is a co-founder of the Sunset Park Restoration Committee, which prompted neighborhood history and community development.

Special thanks to MADE Bush Terminal, Brooklyn Public Library Sunset Park Branch, Center for Brooklyn History, Tony Giordano, Vincent Wong-Crocitto, and Harry Mena for supporting Sunset Park Through the Lens.
